From 1891 until 1946, League Park was one of the great ballparks of its day. Originally built of wood, the ballpark was re-fortified in concrete during a 1910 renovation performed by the "Osborn Engineering Company" the same Osborn Co. which would build such ballparks as Yankee Stadium, Braves Field, RFK Stadium, Milwaukee County Stadium, Griffith Stadium in D.C., Tiger Stadium, Fenway Park, Kansas City Muni, Metropolitan Stadium in Minnesota, Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh and the Polo Grounds.
