Finally in 1940 the revival of the American Football League would place a new franchise called the Buffalo Indians at what was now renamed ... Civic Stadium. The Indians were made up of cast-offs that were able to be stolen from the rival NFL and not very good ones as the team went 2-8 on the season bringing a quick end to the franchise's history. The AFL would try again in 1941 with another new franchise now called the "Buffalo Tigers" which had about the same drive and talent going 2-6 before Pearl Harbor brought the league to an instant standstill.
