Seattle's first franchise departed after just one season as the Seattle Pilots moved in 1970 to become the Milwaukee Brewers because of perhaps the worst stadium conditions in Major League history. Just before the playoffs in 1995… the Seattle Mariners nearly repeated history due to the conditions of perhaps the 2nd worst stadium in Major League history including a crumbling ceiling that sent the team packing for the longest road trip ever. Luckily cooler heads (and Edgar Martinez) prevailed and kept the Mariners from becoming Tampa Bay's new American League franchise.
