Safeco Field was built in 1999 bringing both a sense of relief and of wonderment to Seattle's baseball fans. For decades, they had endured a terrible tale of two separate failing Major League franchises… and in both times, that failure was due to the lack of a proper baseball stadium. Safeco Field ensured that the Mariners were not only staying in Seattle on a permanent basis, but they would properly represent the entire Pacific Northwest in a way that every fan could finally respect and truly enjoy for perhaps… centuries to come.
