The Saints never held a Major League affiliation... in fact no one in the league
did during the first 4 years of the Georgia State League's existance. The team
was however loaded with talent and Woodrow Bottoms led the Saints to 1st place
in the "new" Georgia State League's first season. In fact they were so good (finishing
with a 81-37, .686 record), that the second place Baxley Red Sox finished
16 games out of 1st place. Sparta would take on the Eastman Dodgers in the first
round of the playoffs. |
