The Albany Travelers used this facility for 4 seasons, from 1935 when it was built (and they moved out of the high school ballfield), until 6000 seat Hugh Mills Stadium was completed in 1939. The 1935 Travelers were a great ballclub finishing in 1st place with the best hitter in the league (Sam Narron .347), the best home run hitter (Frank Puttman, 18) and the best pitcher (Walter Ammon, 21 wins). The team went 68-52 (.567) and looked to run away with the Georgia-Florida League but lost the championship to Tallahassee in the 7th and final game.
