The "Twin Cities" of Minneapolis and St. Paul may always be joined together in holy matrimony but each city had their own Triple-A American Assoc. team… and a rivalry which grew into one of the fiercest in all of Minor League Baseball. St. Paul had its classic Lexington Park, built in 1897… to rival Minneapolis' Nicollet Park which was built previous year. Milwaukee originally threw its hat in the ring, starting the trend by building a ballpark like no other in 1888. The three teams had a triad of classic ballparks… each of which rivaled many Major League facilities of the day.
