Each of these 3 ballparks of the 1800's would last well into the 1950's serving "Triple-A" (then known as Class A) American Association baseball… though they would all need continual maintenance due to fires and decaying wood. In 1903, the American Association became an official charter member of Minor League Baseball… however their original intention was to become a 3rd Major League system. The triad of classic ballparks would be a great selling point but in the end the A.A. would settle on being the top tier Minor League system. (The PCL and International League would also attempt to do the same and finally share as top Class-A (Triple-A) systems.
