These 3 ballparks built within a few years of each other would go on to serve the American Association for 55+ years throughout the early to mid-20th century until they all came crashing down due to progress, again all around the same time… between 1956 and 1957. In all three cases, the reasoning behind their demise was the same… each city wanted a Major League team, and all 3 built new stadiums to attract an MLB franchise.
