Throughout the early to mid 20th century, "Triple-A" American Association Baseball was played in the northwoods region in beautiful vintage ballparks, which were built during the late 1800's. The trinity of this region was Borchert Field (1888) in Milwaukee, St. Paul's rival Nicollet Park (1886) in very nearby Minneapolis, and Lexington Park built in 1897 in St. Paul Minnesota.
